Our Team comprises professional social services, mental health, and medical staff as well as highly trained program staff and counselors.

We employ a counselor-camper ratio of 1:2 and maintain a Two-Deep Principle (2 trained adults for every camper) of constant supervision from the moment our campers arrive until the (sad) moment we say goodbye - until next year :)

Psychologists. Social Workers. Licensed Therapists. Educators. Nurses.  + incredibly caring camp staff who want to make this the most outrageously fun week for everyone.

We utilize widely accepted TBRI (Trust Based Relational Intervention) in an effort to respect and help our campers with difficult situations that may arise.

Wayne Stewart - is the FTC | RFKC Ames Director and also the Serve Pastor at Christ Community Church. With a BA in Social Psychology - Cross Cultural Social Psychology and Masters in Church Worship, Wayne has served churches in Seattle, Chicago, and now Central Iowa. His first connection with RFKC came as his church in the northwest embraced the call to care for vulnerable kids. They're still hosting camps some 25 years later and he is excited to start a new chapter here in Story and Boone Counties. Almost a decade in social services work, 20 years pastoring, and a lifetime as a musician underpins Wayne's passion and experiences that he hopes can be of benefit to our community through RFKC. Alongside his wife Breta, they have three adult children and three adorable, perfect grandkids... so far. For questions, a presentation, or just coffee: director@rfkcames.org
